Welcome to L’Héritage!

Alena is Australian-born but raised between cultures, spending much of her childhood in France. Her upbringing shaped her deep appreciation for long lunches, seasonal cooking and the ritual of gathering around a table. Hospitality has always felt instinctive to her, not just as a business, but as a way of living. After years working within and building hospitality venues, Alena envisioned L’Héritage as a place that feels both refined and deeply personal: elegant yet warm, coastal yet unmistakably French. For her, the restaurant is an extension of home, a space where stories are shared, milestones are celebrated and guests are welcomed like friends.

Julien, Head Chef and co-owner, brings the culinary heart of L’Héritage to life. Trained in classical French technique and grounded in discipline and craft, he leads the kitchen with quiet precision and creativity. His cooking honours tradition while embracing the exceptional produce Australia offers. Each dish reflects his respect for technique, balance and flavour, from delicate sauces to perfectly executed classics. Julien believes great food should be generous, soulful and memorable.

Together, Alena and Julien have been close friends for over a decade. Their partnership is built on trust, laughter and a shared vision: to create a true French dining experience that feels transportive yet connected to Sydney’s coastal landscape.

L’Héritage, meaning “the legacy” is their tribute to the traditions that shaped them, and their promise to carry those traditions forward with integrity, warmth and joy.
